In most cases, people leave their work to concentrate on becoming professional poker players. Well, it is different in the case of Michael Binger. Michael Binger is a physicist by profession who plays part-time poker. But it does not seem to matter if he only plays poker part-time because he plays really well. In fact, he is considered as one of the best professional poker players in the industry.

Michael Binger has been playing poker for a long time now but it was only in 2006 when he started to join high stakes poker, barely two months after he became a full-fledged physicist. Being a college graduate of North Carolina State University and a Ph.D. degree holder from Stanford University, there is no doubt that Michael Binger is one heck of a man with good brains. And his intelligence is manifested in the way he plays poker.

This professional poker player first displayed his skills in one of the World Series of Poker events held in 2006, wherein he finished sixth. In the same year, Michael Binger also joined the main event of the World Series of Poker event that was conducted at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2006 and placed third. Between the two events, this was where Michael Binger was recognized more. Poker enthusiasts could not believe that this part-time professional poker player was able to defeat approximately 8,800 professional poker players. Of course, it was one of the luckiest days of Michael Binger, having won a total of US$4,100,000.

Born in Delray Beach, Florida on December 20, 1976, poker fans have probably seen this professional poker player in several World Poker Tour events too. Michael Binger was the sixteenth-placer at the Doyle Brunson North American Poker Classic event conducted by the World Poker Tour. He won US$67,655 in the said event. Poker enthusiasts probably saw him play at the Pokerstars.com Caribbean Adventure event conducted by the World Poker Tour.

In 2007, Michael Binger participated in World Series of Poker events. With such participation, this professional poker was able to prove to his fans and to his fellow professional poker players that he could really play poker well even though he is only considered a part-time player. The first time he joined the World Series of Poker, this professional poker player only placed eighth. But as the game progressed, his ranked moved higher and higher until he reached third place. He may not have won the grand prize, but Michael Binger is no doubt an aggressive professional poker player.

Michael Binger, although born in Florida, has moved to Atherton, California. He has a brother who is also a poker player. In fact, his brother also played in a World Series of Poker event in 2007.

With Michael Binger's success in poker despite being busy as a doctor of physics, this professional poker player has proven that it is possible for a person to do two things at the same time.
