Poker Freerolls: Playing with Big StacksOne of the most common mistakes of Poker freeroll players is that once they get large stacks, they throw caution to the wind and start playing too many hands. While having a large stack is very favorable, you should still have a strategy in place. If you are in between the chip leader and those with short stacks, your Poker freeroll strategy should be to play with AAs or AKs. With these hands you should raise and re raise, and because they are very strong, can be used regardless of your spot on the Poker table. Of course, the bigger your stack, the Poker freeroll hands that you can play. You can afford to be aggressive with pocket pairs, and if there are a lot of players on the table with short stacks, concentrate your game on them. These players will either go all in, which means you should call them with any kind of decent hand that you hold. If they are very tight, then your Poker freeroll strategy would be to stay aggressive and get them to fold. For others with medium sized stacks, raising the stakes to three times the minimum wages should get them to fold, allowing you to take the pot pre flop. Getting rid of the players with marginal stacks is something that you should try and do very quickly. The last thing you want is one of these guys getting lucky on the draw and burning your chips. As stated you should not get careless with your raises; if you are in middle position, that big raise you made might be re raised by the one coming after you, affecting your Poker freeroll strategy. In this spot, it is best to make the big raise with the premium hands. Having a large, or the largest stack in a Poker freeroll tourney is a tremendous advantage. It gives you a lot more opportunities to refine and adjust your strategies, and also gives you more flexibility. It will help ease the pressure off you, and at the same time it is placed on your opponents. If you are in the middle, then you can be content with just watching the chip leaders busting each other out. However, you should not be over confident; rather use this edge in ways that will help you eliminate your opponents as quickly as possible. By the time of the heads up, you will still have plenty of chips to go after the other player and win it all.
