Simple But Effective Pre-Flop Texas Holdem StrategyAlmost everybody says that winning at Texas holdem is very crucial at pre-flop play. They say we need to know how to play our hands effectively before the flop comes. So what's the best pre-flop Texas holdem strategy? Often, the best Texas holdem strategy is the simple yet effective one. Thus, if we keep things simple, there are only 4 areas in pre-flop play that we need to examine and base our play on. First is the number of players involved in the hand. If there are 5 players at the table (short-hand) it means we have less competition and better winning odds. If there are 10 players (long-hand) we have more competition and less winning odds. Next is to see the play mood at the table. Are the players loose or tight, aggressive or too cautious? Our Texas holdem strategy will be greatly affected by this. Some say that loose plays should be countered with aggressive plays and aggressive plays should be countered by a loose plays. Another option here is to slow play aggressive players and fast play loose players to create action at the table. But basically, an aggressive Texas holdem strategy is seen as a strong poker play. Our bankroll is another factor here. If we have a small bankroll, our Texas holdem strategy would most likely be tight and fast. We would need to have the action over at pre-flop. We might lose chip power if the play comes to the turn, river, or showdown. Hence, we ought to have a strong starting hand and go all the way with that and probably go all-in before the flop if the situation so warrants. But if we have a big bankroll, we may slow play our Texas holdem strategy. Our position also has a lot to do with what Texas holdem strategy we opt for. When we play from a late position, we may effect a large pot at pre-flop. We have the advantage of seeing what hand plays the players have before our turn to act comes. But with early position we may not be able to have a good play pre-flop. We will often have to wait for the flop to come to have something substantial to play with. Hence, we see that our play is dependent on 5 factors that can help us make a simple yet effective Texas holdem strategy put into work. With these 4 factors, we keep everything practical.
